Heston is that horse that everyone dreams about. He is astonishingly talented and eye-catching. At just 8 years of age he is already well rehearsed in all FEI movements. In 2021, he made his ADV EA debut start at Werribee Park and came home with Champion on 68.1% with a fair field and plenty of room for improvement. Heston started 2021 in Medium and finished in PSG. Now in 2022 he is comfortably holding his own in Inter I Level with his first start yielding 66.8%!.
SIRE
Heston is by the legendary De Niro (IFS / DEC) who really needs no introduction. He is considered to be one of the world's leading dressage sires, with over 100 licensed sons. He reigned as not only a sire but a performance horse himself; his talent obvious after learning a line of one time changes in a week! De Niro himself was a Grand Prix horse and the sire of many more Grand Prix horses.
DAM
Heston is out of a Rituel (IMP) mare. Rituel was imported from Belgium as a yearling by Mary Hanna of Statene Park in Macedon, Victoria. He was broken in by Mary and campaigned with great success as a young stallion.
He took out the prestigious Champion of Champions award at the 1999 Australian Young Dressage Horse Championships and has excelled as he has moved up the grades. Heston's dam was out of a Dutchman (IMP / DEC) mare.
He is well established with flying changes, having learned one per way within just one month of introduction as a 6yo. 2 months later, he could produce a line of 7 two time changes. In 2022, Heston is very strong with his changes and can run a lap around the entire arena, including the short sides, with two time changes appearing reliably (ends up being about 25 in a row). Currently he can produce up to 5 clean one time changes, only months into introducing tempi changes. He is good with counter canter, lateral work, his extended trot is mind-blowing. Passage is established and becoming stronger by the day. Currently perfecting the Passage-Piaffe-Passage transitions. He is astonishingly talented, everything is easy.
Heston has competed extensively at many venues, namely Boneo Park, Werribee Park, Elcho Park, Horsham, Macedon Ranges, Juravon, etc. He has also attended many lessons with Mary Hanna and Thomas Muehlenbeck clinics originally.
Heston is a dream to handle, good to wash, tie, shoe, truck, float, rug, worm, plait (statue). Good on fences and not a destructive personality. He remains fat on the smell of an oily rag and always boasts an enviable topline, even when on a spell. In his early career with us he was competed by my 64 year old mother at Boneo Park where he won Novice on 68.3%. He has been with us for over 3 years now.
Heston loves to jump and is safe to take out on the roads and bush tracks. He doesn't need to be worked down or lunged prior to a ride, even at a competition or with time off. He is good to ride bareback and most of his training is done in a snaffle. He possesses the right level of positive sensitivity to get the job done. He needs an experienced rider as he is a big moving, powerful horse with lots of buttons and still only young himself, however has been ridden easily by Novice riders and JNRs under instruction.
He has good feet, no vices, no scars or blemishes, no injuries, straight legs, good proportionate solid bone.
Keep your eye on this space, he could be Australia's next Olympic mount!
